WHAT ARE DERMAL FILLER INJECTIONS?

Picture
There are so many inventions which have revolutionized the field of cosmetic surgery and one such aesthetic revolution is dermal filler injections which are also known as cosmetic fillers and are used for the management of aging skin.

A facial filler includes a series of tiny injections which are applied at different depth of the skin’s surface. Dermal Fillers are Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved injectable implants which are medically advised for creating a smoother and fuller appearance, especially for the face. These face fillers are made from absorbable material for the adjustment of moderate to severe skin folds and facial wrinkles. This procedure is safe for the individuals over the age of 21 years however the use of it is not limited to eliminate signs of aging but it can also be used to enhance facial structure.

Temporary and Permanent Fillers

There are two primary groups of dermal fillers synthetic and natural dermal fillers. The effects are known to last from six months to two years for semi-permanent fillers while the results of permanent fillers are visible for up to five years.

For obtaining volume, denser fillers are required, such as Voluma or Restylane which are known as the best lip fillers.

Whereas for only superficial defects or small enhancements lighter molecules are applied. However, for prolonged effects, permanent fillers can also be used while there are also collagen-based fillers which must be pre-tested before administration.

How Dermal Fillers Work?

The synthetic material is injected into the skin with the intention of plumping that area to the point where the wrinkle or fold disappears. It is a complete medical procedure and should not be regarded as a simple cosmetic treatment hence you should always seek medical attention in case any pain or unusual behavior is experienced.

Another category of temporary dermal fillers is Calcium hydroxylapatite which is a type of mineral that is commonly found in human bones and teeth.
